Meet Cedric
Cedric Nelms is a native of Los Angeles, CA. He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. He has an MA in Justice and Advocacy from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is an alumni of the Devos Urban Leadership Institute (DVULI) and a graduate of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Leadership Development Institute. He is currently working on his Doctorate of Ministry at Fuller as well.
Cedric has been in the ministry for 25+ years. He has extensive knowledge working in community development, leadership principles, social justice, advocacy, and civic engagement He was the Senior Pastor of Chosen Generation Fellowship Church for 15 years. He is currently the Senior Pastor of Greater New Salem in Los Angeles, CA. He is also a published author, Board Member for several organizations, and member of a neighborhood council. In addition to that, he works in the area of organizing and advocacy in the nonprofit arena, where he is actively working on being a bridge builder between Los Angeles county communities, Community Based organizations, and the Faith Based community. Cedric and his wife are the founders of Legacy Bridge Community Development Corp. He is currently working in the arena of educational equity leading the Black Family Advocacy Network and organizing for a nonprofit organization.
He has been married to Karen for 25+ years. They have 5 beautiful children: Erika Hill (daughter), Jonathan Fletcher (son), Khalid Nelms (son), Isaiah Nelms (son), and Courtney Nelms (daughter).

What are you excited about in this season of life? I am excited about how the Lord is moving and revealing things in my life, marriage, ministry, and professional arena
What's the most compelling reason you're serving on the Board? I have served on the Board of LB Church Collective due to the relationship that I have with Eric Marsh. I would say that another reason is due to representation of self and community.
