Meet Jenny
Jenny Chheang is the Vice President, Community Investment and Impact at the Colorado Health Foundation where she manages the team responsible for deploying the foundation’s resources towards improving health in Colorado. Prior to this role, she was the Managing Director of Grantmaking Effectiveness at the California Endowment (TCE) where she led strategy development, internal learning and evaluation, and grants management.
Jenny is a Long Beach native who grew up at Grace Long Beach where her dad was a pastor. She has worked for many years in the nonprofit community in Long Beach. She started her career working with Cambodian refugees at the Cambodian Association of America and also led TCE’s Building Healthy Communities (now Long Beach Forward) initiative in Long Beach. She has her MA (International Relations) from the University of Southern California and her BA (Political Science and History) from Wheaton College.
Jenny’s family includes: Zion (age 21, junior at UC Berkeley), Soriya (age 17, junior at LB Poly), and Leo (the dog).

What's your ideal day? Spending the whole day at the beach, swimming, boogie boarding, reading, getting an ice cream cone, finish it off with fish tacos on the way home. Sandy, hungry, sunburnt and happy.
Place you'd most like to visit? (again or for 1st time) The Caribbean - never been, would love to visit.
What makes you laugh? Videos of dogs being goofy
What brings you to tears? When other people are in pain or victimized.

What's your favorite word and why? Joy, because it brings a smile to my face just thinking about the things that bring me joy. Where would we be if God hadn't given us the ability to be truly joyful?
What do you do for fun? Swim, read, spend time with friends and family, be outside in nature.
What do you want for your last meal? Sushi!
What are you excited about in this season of life? Watching my kids transition to adulthood and getting to explore new career opportunities.
What's the most compelling reason you're serving on the Board? I love the vision of LBCC to bring churches together in our city in order for the city to flourish.
