Meet Tim

Tim was a pastor for 25 years, twice in established churches (Laguna Hills and Seal Beach), and once as the lead pastor of a church plant in Long Beach. He has a heart for people, especially that they know they’re seen, heard, and loved by God.

Tim grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and moved to San Dimas in 1992 where he met his future wife, Julie, at LIFE Bible College. They’ve been married for 29 years and are the proud parents of 21-year-old twins, Micah and Mikayla.

In his free time, you’ll find Tim taking a drive, walking the dogs, or enjoying a meal at a local restaurant with his wife or friends. But most of the time you’ll find him in one of the many great Long Beach coffee shops. Coffee is Tim’s love language and, it would seem, he’s constantly working on that relationship!

Ideal Day:

Sleeping in until about 8 AM. Getting up to the smell of coffee and bacon. No plans. Spending time with my wife all day, then being joined by the kids for dinner and a movie. Staying up too late because the next day is not a work day.

Last Meal on Earth:

Peanut butter and jelly on toasted sourdough. KC Masterpiece barbecue potato chips. Coke in a bottle.

Favorite word and why:

Shalom - There’s so much more to this word than our English translation, “peace.” Shalom points to universal flourishing, wholeness, and delight. It’s God, humanity, and creation webbed together as we ought to be.

Favorite thing about working with LB Church Collective:

Getting to work with an amazing team of people doing meaningful work on behalf of and in partnership with Jesus
