Q & A with Dana Cochran
Dana, prayer is one of those things that most of God's people would say, "I want to grow in this practice; I need to be more prayerful." When did your practice of prayer start and how has this come to be such an important part of your life?
My prayer practice started when I began to hear stories of the power of prayer from others. Then I started learning from others and experiencing God answering prayers in my life and in the lives of others as I prayed for them. Sometimes I actually feel I can't do anything but pray.
We know that we can pray when we’re alone. What’s special about gathering with others to pray?
There is something so powerful about praying with others. Jesus affirms this when he says, "Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them” (Matthew 18:19-20).
The Easter season is a very busy time of the year, especially for those who lead churches. Why should someone make time to come out and pray on the Wednesday before Easter?
Praying over our city/region for Easter is powerful because we want to see God's love poured out over our city. Also, we get the opportunity to pray for one another's churches so that many people will be come to know Christ this Easter season.
“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”
